After a car accident
- Stay safe.Move to a safe spot and check for injuries. Call 911 if anyone is hurt.
- Document everything.Photos of the vehicles or damage, the scene, and conditions.
- Exchange information.Names, insurance, plates, and contact details.
- File a police report.Required in Colorado for accidents with injuries or significant damage.
- Contact your carrier.Use the numbers above as soon as you can.

After home, condo, or renters damage
- Prevent more damage. Shut off water, cover a broken window, or tarp a roof if it's safe.
- Take photos first. Before you clean up or throw anything away.
- Keep receipts. For emergency repairs and, if you're displaced, hotel and meals.
- Report it promptly. Call your carrier's claims line or file in their app.
